POSITION SUMMARY: Work in our busy Child Watch Room providing a fun and safe environment for Y children and their families. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises while leading and participating in various activities that are developmentally appropriate. Dependable and caring individual who possess initiative and strong communication. Ensures safety and cleanliness of program environment. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to provide care and interact with children and youth in a positive manner. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum age of 13 Volunteer Application CORI/SORI, Criminal Background Check and Sex Offender Registry Check ***ID must be verified in person References (online) Child Abuse Prevention Training Interview with Child Watch supervisor after submitting the above documents and training. Start Date: Ongoing Days available are any time during Child Watch operating hours which are: All days from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM or weeknights 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Volunteers do not need to volunteer for the full 4 hours and can volunteer for shorter time spans. Ideally, volunteers will commit to a regular schedule (ex. weekly, bi-weekly, monthly). Shift will be based on volunteer's ability.

Volunteer Title: Youth and Teen Mentor Position Summary: As a Youth and Teen mentor for the Greendale Y Achievers program you would use your expertise in your field of work, or life experience to help high school students prepare for college and the workforce. You do this by offering advice, talking with the whole group, offering a specific service that would be of benefit to high school students. Achievers is a program that helps prepare students for their future, and explores new ideas and avenues that they otherwise may not be able to with the help of the YMCA and mentors like you. Essential Responsibilities: Speak with students, communicate with them about their goals and future plans. Provide support, advice, and knowledge that could help students. Volunteers will share their careers, path to success, social activism work and more. The Y Achievers program intentionally introduces young people to caring adults who can positively impact, inspire and support them. You are not required to come to each session. Rotating schedule, you can come once or on a regular basis depending on your availability. POSITION SUMMARY: The Pickleball Beginner Instructor is responsible for introducing new players—particularly adults and seniors—to the fundamentals of pickleball in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. This position focuses on teaching basic rules, scoring, court positioning, and stroke techniques while promoting sportsmanship, fitness, and enjoyment of the game. The instructor will design and lead engaging, progressive lessons that build player confidence and skill over time. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and conduct beginner-level pickleball lessons, clinics, or open play sessions. Demonstrate and explain proper techniques, including serving, volleying, dinking, and basic game strategy. Create a positive, encouraging atmosphere that supports all skill levels and learning styles. Ensure player safety by monitoring courts and reinforcing safe play habits. Organize equipment and assist with setup and cleanup as needed. Foster a sense of community and teamwork among participants.
