Volunteer Title: Intern Position Summary: The YMCA Internship Program offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional, community-focused environment. Interns support the daily operations of YMCA programs, assist with events and activities, and work alongside staff and volunteers to serve our members and the community. This internship is designed to help participants develop valuable workplace skills, explore career paths in youth development, health and wellness, and nonprofit leadership — all while making a positive impact. Essential Responsibilities: Assist YMCA staff with planning and leading programs and activities Support events, daily operations, and member engagement Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants Develop leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills Participate in service projects, trainings, and professional development opportunities Complete additional duties and responsibilities based on assigned internship area Qualifications: Must be at between 19-23 years old Must be able to communicate effectively Must have relevant knowledge/skills Must be welcoming, relatable, and flexible Requirements: Volunteer Application CORI/SORI, Criminal Background Check and Sex Offender Registry Check ***ID must be verified in person References (online) Child Abuse Prevention Training Interview Start Date: TBD Days available or Day: Times may vary based on internship role
